How to Create Brand Identity for Small Businesses in Kerala

25 February 2026  ·  CIMT Media Blog

A brand identity is more than a logo — it is a complete visual language that makes a business instantly recognisable across every touchpoint. In Kerala's competitive market, small businesses that invest in professional brand identity consistently outperform those that do not.

What a Complete Brand Identity Includes

  • Primary logo and alternate versions (stacked, icon-only, black and white)
  • Colour palette: 1–2 primary brand colours + 1–2 supporting neutrals
  • Typography system: Heading font, body font, accent font
  • Icon or pattern set: Supporting graphic elements
  • Brand guidelines document: Rules for how to use all elements consistently

Process for Kerala Businesses

Start with a discovery conversation: What is the business? Who is the customer? What feeling should the brand evoke? A traditional Kerala gold jewellery brand should feel very different from a tech startup in Kochi's Infopark. Gather 10–15 visual references the client responds positively to before designing.

Deliverable Files

Deliver logo in: AI (source), PNG (transparent background), SVG (web), PDF (print). Include a simple 2-page brand guidelines PDF with colour codes (HEX, CMYK, Pantone), font names, and usage examples. This saves hours of back-and-forth with printers and social media managers.

Brand identity design is taught in the Graphic Design Mastery Program at CIMT Kochi with real client project experience.
