Wondering what a typical day at CIMT's Aluva campus actually looks like? Here is a realistic picture of student life during the Photography Master Program.
Morning: Theory and Technique Sessions (9:00 AM – 12:00 PM)
Morning sessions typically cover technical or conceptual ground — a new lighting technique, compositional approach, or specific genre of photography. Instructors who are working photographers bring current real-world context to every lesson. Sessions are interactive and question-driven rather than lecture-only.
Post-Lunch: Practical Shooting or Studio Work (1:00 PM – 4:00 PM)
Afternoons alternate between studio shooting sessions and outdoor location shoots. Studio days involve working with professional lighting setups — portrait lighting, product photography, creative theme shoots. Location days involve exploring Kochi's diverse environments — Fort Kochi streets, backwaters, markets, and urban areas — applying the morning's lessons in real conditions.
Late Afternoon: Editing Lab (4:00 PM – 6:00 PM)
High-performance editing computers are available for post-processing the day's shoot. Instructors circulate and provide individual feedback on editing decisions. Peer critique between students is encouraged — discussing why certain edits work develops visual judgement faster than solo practice.
Industrial Training Phase (Month 5–6)
In the final two months, students join actual Camrin Films productions — real wedding shoots, commercial projects, and studio assignments. This is the phase that makes CIMT graduates immediately employment-ready.
