After a full wedding day, a photographer is left with 1,500–3,000 raw files. Without a structured editing workflow, post-production becomes overwhelming. Here is the professional workflow used by experienced Kerala wedding photographers.
Step 1 — Import and Cull in Adobe Bridge
Import all files to a dated folder structure (Year/Month/ClientName). Open in Adobe Bridge and cull ruthlessly — target delivering 400–600 final images from a full-day wedding. Mark rejects with X, selects with 1–3 stars.
Step 2 — Create Presets and Batch Edit in Lightroom
Develop one hero image to match your desired style. Export that as a Lightroom Preset and apply it to all images in the same lighting condition. This cuts editing time from hours to minutes. Adjust exposure, white balance, and highlights per image after batch apply.
Step 3 — Skin Retouching and Local Adjustments
Use the Healing Brush for blemishes and the Graduated/Radial Filter to darken skies and brighten faces. Avoid heavy skin smoothing — clients want natural, not plastic.
Step 4 — Export and Deliver
Export at 3000px on the long edge, 300 DPI, JPEG quality 90 for print, and 2048px, 72 DPI for web/social. Deliver via WeTransfer or Google Drive with a folder structure clients can navigate.
The Photography Master Program at CIMT Kochi covers this complete workflow, including Adobe Bridge and Lightroom, as part of the core curriculum.
